Tsitah™ Threads are designed in the mountains between Vancouver's North Shore and Whistler, B.C. We are a west coast apparel company with a commitment to creative expression and a passion for the outdoors. Tsitah™ Threads are made for the laid-back, playful, daring and approachable people on the planet.
After an extensive career in the film industry and inspired by her newborn daughter, owner & designer Nicole Florian decided to stop googling and start creating what she couldn't find. A minimalist who shops with precision and a consumer who believes in quality over quantity, Nicole uses a local factory for sustainability, producing limited quantities of her designs at any given time.
Tsitah™ Threads launched its online store in November 2008 with a line of baby & toddler bandanas. Appearing in the hippest baby stores, a celebrity favorite and PTPA (Parent Tested Parent Approved) award winner, the bandanas are great gifts and unique accessories for wee fashionistas. Even babes who don't like wearing hats love these bandanas. Some moms also use them as dribble bibs. The velcro closure safety feature makes them quick and easy to put on while allowing for size adjustment as your little one grows. With such names as Boss Lady, Park Rocker and Playground Mafia, the bandanas come in ever changing cool patterns that suggest west coast hippie meets California surfer baby.
To date, over 500 bandanas have been purchased and donated as Gifts in Kind to several children's charities, including Canuck Place Children's Hospice in B.C. , Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, BC Cancer Camp Goodtimes, The Hospital for Sick Children, Rouge Valley Health System Foundation and the Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa & Halifax Ronald McDonald Houses. If you are interested in donating, please contact us.
In the fall of 2009, Tsitah™ Threads launched its winter+baby+blanket that combines the cozy insulating properties of fleece and the water repellent features of ripstop nylon. The fleece used is made from post-consumer recycled plastic and is considered by some a Vegan alternative to wool. This blanket rocks! With such names as Torrential Downpour, Rain Forest and Glacier Runoff, it is a must have for the little ones who share our passion for the outdoors.
With the ultimate goal of
creating product that has minimal packaging and creates minimal waste, leftover
scraps from the manufacturing of Tsitah™ Threads are used to create unique, one of a kind baby quilts. These quilts
are made to embrace the old fashion scrappy quilt with an enviro
inspiration.
In May 2010, after the birth
of her second daughter, Nicole launched her most recent design:baby & toddler cotton tuques. These stylin’ reversible cotton hats offer
year round radness and are available in wild prints with such names as Wicked
Lid, Peace Bucket, Urban Tiara and Sweet Chilly.
Babies & toddlers look so
rad in their Tsitah Threads that there is an increasing demand for adult sizes.
